Urgent Support Needed for Holguín: Hurricane Melissa Relief Effort

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our teams and collaborators in Nicaro and Laguna Blanca are responding to an escalating humanitarian crisis. Many families are without safe water, and widespread illness is emerging due to contamination.

Health partners report critical shortages of painkillers, antibiotics, antidepressants, first-aid supplies, and rehydration salts. These communities were already weakened by arbovirus outbreaks, leaving residents especially vulnerable.

We’re also purchasing bulk goods through Costco, allowing us to ship large volumes of priority items quickly.

✈️ Travellers heading to Cuba - especially Holguín - are urgently needed to help carry aid suitcases. Each suitcase can mean the difference between comfort and crisis for a family in need.

We are also accepting food and clothing donations, and encouraging community drives across Canada to collect items for shipment.
