How do I take a suitcase?
Click on the "carry supplies" button above to fill out our suitcase request form. Once the form is completed one of our volunteers will be in touch.
Does taking a suitcase impact my luggage allowance?
Yes, however most airlines will allow extra weight for humanitarian aid. Please consult your airlines "baggage allowance" rules.
Once I arrive at my destination, what do I do with the suitcase?
We take care of retrieving the suitcase once you arrive at your destination. This process varies based on individual destinations. Suitcases are left with the donors.
Can I inspect the suitcase?
Yes! We encourage passengers to inspect the contents. However, each suitcase is equipped with our organization letter and contents list (in English and Spanish).
Do I have to declare the suitcase?
No. Each suitcase contains our organization letter and contents list in case it is selected for inspection by customs. Generally, humanitarian aid is cleared.
What is the cost of taking a suitcase?
All fees are paid for by A Lot of Love For Cuba. We can pay the airline direct or you prepay and we reimburse you.
Can I add items to the suitcase or remove things for people in need?
No! Since each suitcase is equipped with our organization letter and contents list (in English and Spanish) changing the contents may impact any inspections.
Carrying a suitcase
Can I receive supplies to pack myself?
Yes, however all fees will be paid by you (transport and suitcase costs). To receive supplies please send us an e-mail. Generally, these will contain first aid, wound care and general medical supplies.
